Wiktor the father was conscripted to a labor train after the surrender of <st1:City w:st=on><st1:place w:st=on>Warsaw</st1:place></st1:City>. He worked under threat of great harm to his family while forced to travel and repair damaged trains and tracks across <st1:country-region w:st=on><st1:place w:st=on>Poland</st1:place></st1:country-region> and <st1:country-region w:st=on><st1:place w:st=on>Germany</st1:place></st1:country-region>.
