The lasting appeal of The Picture of Dorian Gray. Character design main themes and film adaptations

Pre-University Paper from the year 2014 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Literature grade: 10 language: English abstract: It is the purpose of this paper to sum up the elements which contribute to the novel's lasting appeal which also reflects itself in a variety of adaptations. This is intended to be done through an examination of the relations among the novel's main characters and its main themes. The paper also shows a short comparison between the literary source and some selected film adaptations.
