Laura a young and hopeful Brazilian female attends an intensive course in the south of Germany. A couple of days before the end of the course she has a sexual adventure with one of her classmates Gerhard. They both fall in love and keep in touch by phone and letters for months. Gerhard lives in Pietarsaari in the Swedish-speaking part of Finland and Laura in São Paulo Brazil. They eventually get married.
