About The Book

In 1835 Cara Rojo a Ute war chief finds an eight year old white girl who had just lost her family to a flash flood. The girl has lost her memory and Cara Rojo takes her to his village and the Utes name her Tavimois. Daniel Headly survived the flood and is rescued by a Black mountain man and his Crow Indian wife. Daniel believes his sister Hannah died in the flood with their parents. After a year of trading with the plains Indian tribes Daniel marries the daughter of a French mountain man and returns to civilization. Years later he returns to the wilderness and finds his sister alive and married to a Ute warrior living in a hidden valley deep in the Rocky Mountains.
