This is the story of Scaeva. Five bloody prophecies of his future foretold by the druids propel him through the first century BC to meet his destiny at the very birth of Christianity.</p><p></p><p><strong>Book 1. The Launching of Scaeva.</strong></p><p>As the Roman fleet sails relentlessly through the night towards Britannia's towering white cliffs the tribes north of the Tamasa obliviously continue their civil war while those on the southern coast lie in wait. During the celebrations following Caesar's departure Scaeva a young Briton living under the protection of Epona a Celtic goddess enrages the powerful king of a neighbouring tribe and must face justice as decreed by the druids-five bloody prophecies about his future are foretold.</p><p>To escape his fate Scaeva is offered by his tribe to Caesar as a hostage in a pact that would ensure the Romans a successful invasion the following year. Sent to Rome for his education at the house of Caesar's daughter Julia wife of Pompey the Great disaster strikes and the first prophesy unfolds. Meanwhile back in Britannia Caesar's second invasion ends in personal grief and shattered dreams.</p>
