The Less Hurried Past: Poems for Grace

For most of his eldest daughters twenty-one years Roger Averill wrote a poem to celebrate each passing birthday. Typically playful and featuring the rhymes and rhythms of light verse these poems return the reader to the less complex joys and more languorous days of childhood. In doing so they trace the development of a young life much loved and well lived.
