The Libation Bearers

Many years after Agamemnon's murder his son Orestes acting on an order from Apollo returns to Argos with his cousin Pylades in The Libation Bearers the second play in Aeschylus' Oresteia trilogy to exact revenge on Clytemnestra for killing Agamemnon. At Agamemnon's grave where she had been bringing libations to Agamemnon in an effort to stop Clytemnestra's nightmares Orestes meets up with his sister Electra when he gets there. Soon after the reunion Orestes and Electra devise a plot to assassinate Clytemnestra and Aegisthus under the influence of the Chorus.
