The Life and Adventures of Peter Wilkins Volume 1 (of 2)

The story follows the adventures of Peter Wilkins a shipwrecked English sailor who discovers a hidden civilization in a remote part of the world. This civilization is inhabited by a race of winged people called Glums. Peter Wilkins learns their language and customs and eventually falls in love with a Glum woman named Nu-Yah. As the narrative unfolds readers are taken on a journey through this fantastical world exploring themes of cultural differences love and the quest for belonging.
