The Little Room and Other Stories

The title story The Little Room is perhaps the most famous of the collection and is a classic example of American supernatural fiction. It explores themes of perception reality and the supernatural wrapped in a psychological mystery. The Little Room centers on a newlywed couple who visit the husband's family home where the wife is shown a small room in the house that is ornately decorated.
