The Lost Feather

In The Lost Feather a Native American boy whose very special feather is lost to the wind begins a search not only for the feather but for the bravery which he fears he has lost with it. His journey assisted by his animal friends comes to an abrupt halt when an enemy invades his village and with the fate of the village in his hands he must think fast. His adventure leads him to a surprising self-discovery reminding him that the memory of his father will guide him forever. Although the young brave's animal friends are personified in the spirit of Native American folklore the story is the author's own creation. The warm illustrations will send the reader's imagination rolling along with the tumbleweed through the western canyons and along sandy paths. A quick and vibrant read for children this story will transport readers back to the American West. Filled with colorful and unique illustrations and with a great message this is a great first work from the author (who's a chemist-turned-writer!). Recommended for ages 6 and up. A.
