About The Book
Description
Author
The history of the Ahom Dynasty in Assam though highly interesting is not widely studied. The two plays depict the story of two Ahom heroes. The first play is about the political intrigue that compelled Prince Sukapha to undertake an adventurous journey to explore new pastures to establish his own kingdom in Assam. The second play is about the brightest hero of the Ahoms Lachit Borphukon. With his shrewd battle sense he outwitted the Mughal army of a much larger size in the battle of Saraighat. The climax is reached with Lachits superhuman efforts to motivate his navy to turn the tide. Both the plays have been written keeping in view the possibility of large participation. While relevant stage direction have been provided there is room for the Director to use creative ideas to show actions on stage. The plays can be performed with symbolic stage although there is scope for making them grand and large scale productions.
