<p>It was then her peripheral vision sensed motion about two hundred feet behind the buildings and she turned her head.</p><p>He moved rapidly through the darkened shadows. That's how she knew someone was walking along the path below a wall that rose sharply behind the ruins. Had he remained stationary he would have blended in with the surroundings. It was an unsettling feeling thinking she was safely alone only to see someone else. Had he seen her? She thought not. Hoped not.</p><p>Suddenly Miss Treadwell felt vulnerable. There was a certain charm in being alone with the mystique of the ruins as darkness settled around her that would be lost had she brought anyone with her. Yet that mystique quickly evolved to concern even worry. She was alone in a deserted place with someone making his way along a path she hadn't noticed upon her arrival.</p>
