The manual for the course 'Information technology and computing systems'

The abstract of the lectures on the discipline Information Technologies and Computing Systems is intended for full-time full-time and part-time and correspondence students of technical departments of the Moscow Polytechnic and is profile-oriented although the possibility of using it in other educational institutions in the system of training masters also additional and second higher education. The manual gives a summary of the general provisions on the basic concepts of modern information technology (IT). The manual includes test questions for self-examination of knowledge on the material obtained. This provides a deeper and more detailed study of the proposed topics and a better consolidation of the material being studied. The course consists of fifteen lectures chapters sequentially describing the basic concepts of IT the architecture of electronic computers and the main devices of modern computing and information systems (IS). Each chapter contains a theoretical description of the topic under consideration as well as drawings and diagrams. This tutorial includes applications. Appendix A - contains a brief alphabetical index of the basic concepts of this course.
