A year into retirement and a move from the city to a tiny village in the Kootenays home to a diverse collection of characters Margo still doesn’t know where she fits in. But what is hers? To find out Margo challenges herself to get involved in the neighbourhood like an entrepreneurial venture selling her cinnamon buns (that triggers a turf war) making an emergency call to the volunteer fire brigade to help a distressed neighbour locate an escaped parrot in February and organizing a neighbourhood beautification campaign to win ‘the most iconic Kootenay village’ contest - only to discover the neighbours have their ideas about what is iconic - or is that ironic?. Each misadventure becomes a funny way for her to learn something new about herself entertaining the reader with her journey of self-discovery.
