About The Book

William Blake an English poet painter and printmaker wrote a sequence of poems titled The Marriage of Heaven and Hell that mimicked biblical prophesy. Blake who was mostly ignored during his lifetime is now regarded as a key influence in the development of Romantic-era poetry and visual art. Blakes deeply held Romantic and revolutionary views are expressed throughout the text. The theme for the work which Blake borrowed from Miltons Paradise Lost and Dantess Inferno is the narrators trip to Hell. The entire book is written in prose with the exception of the Song of Liberty and the Introductory Argument.
