The Marvelous Land of Oz

<p><em>The Marvelous Land of Oz</em> by L. Frank Baum is the sequel to <em>The Wonderful Wizard of Oz</em>. It follows a young boy named Tip who escapes from his cruel guardian the witch Mombi. Along the way Tip brings to life Jack Pumpkinhead and creates the wooden Sawhorse with a magical powder. He journeys to the Emerald City where he joins forces with the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman to defend the city against General Jinjur and her army of rebellious girls.</p><p>Eventually Tip discovers his true identity: he was actually born Princess Ozma the rightful ruler of Oz transformed into a boy by Mombi. Restored to her original form Ozma takes her place as ruler bringing peace and order back to the land.</p><p>The story blends adventure humor and transformation highlighting themes of identity leadership and the power of friendship.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p>
