Murray argues that Christ desires to dwell within the hearts of believers and that this indwelling can transform every aspect of their lives. He emphasizes the need for believers to surrender themselves fully to Christ and to allow him to work in and through them to accomplish his purposes. The book draws heavily on the Bible and Murray uses numerous scriptural passages to support his reflections and teachings. He also offers practical advice on how to cultivate a deeper relationship with Christ and on how to overcome common obstacles to spiritual growth such as pride selfishness and unbelief.
