The Meaning-Based Adult Day Care Managed by Nurses for Older Persons

Being meaning-based means that the nurse as a health professional has a special mission to show virtues and to embody meaning-based care by having malasakit (going the extra mile) and being malambing (sweet) with older persons as a way of establishing rapport. The book showcased the nurse as a professional from an interdisciplinary team who can manage a program for the health promotion of older persons. Senior centers can be turned into adult day care centers with programs that develop older persons holistically by nurses who deliver meaning-based nursing care. This book also highlighted the role of the nurse in being an educator coordinator advocate and collaborator in making interdisciplinary team referrals. It also showed the ability pf nurses to manage an adult day care program for older persons.
