<p>Dr. David Chase is the senior cardiac surgeon at Emanuel Hospital in Portland Oregon. To his colleagues and staff at the hospital he is invincible. But David Chase is a broken man. His own heart is held together by ambition and fear. The only love in his life is for his daughter Emily a magical child whose love warms his days. </p><p><br></p><p>On the morning of her eighteenth birthday Emily's father and best friend Audrey watch in horror as Emily is run over on her bicycle by the screaming motorcycle of Randy Tanner a homeless meth addict on a murderous rampage. Dying in her father's arms Emily whispers this prayer with her final breath Daddy love.</p><p><br></p><p>At that moment David Chase shatters into a thousand pieces and descends into a darkened world where he is haunted by Emily's final words and the realization that if he is to fulfill that prayer he must release his hatred for the man who took his daughter's life. </p>
