The Misadventures of Bob the Brave

About The Book

The Misadventures of Bob the Brave

A fantasy adventure comedy in which the hero is a bit dim the magic is a bit unhinged and saving the world could be a catastrophic error.

In a world where powerful warriors hold magical swords dragons fly over burning kingdoms and ancient prophecies select high-minded heroes... Bob was certainly not among them.

Bob is a baker. Or used to be. Now due to a conveniently ambiguous prophecy he's been volunteered to go on a quest that will decide the destiny of the entire kingdom. With no actual training a clunky sword and armor that creaks with each movement Bob finds himself in a kingdom on the edge of catastrophe-and he could be its savior.

Spoiler: Not a good thing.

Far from heroic is Bob's startup. He is lost in mystic forests pursued by beasties that do not exist and given enigmatic guidance by learned animals and faintly sane magicians. And along the journey he gathers a group of equally dubious compatriots like a bard with no singing skills a demoralized knight and an advice-dispensing tree.

As he wanders along through magical worlds ancient relics and completely whirled-around prophecy scrolls Bob begins to suspect that maybe saving the world isn't going to be everything it's cracked up to be. But along with all the chaos and comedy there is a tale of courage most unlikely of friendships and learning that sometimes the best thing you can do is just get there.

Why read The Misadventures of Bob the Brave?

Because you're fed up with sulking great heroes and grand fantasies who never get the hang of laughing. This is a huff of riotous magical air-there are quick wit tricks slapstick humor and a good-natured good guy who is doing his best.

Whether you're a longtime fantasy reader or just in the mood for something light ridiculous and uplifting Bob's misadventures offer an entertaining escape from reality. Think classic fantasy tropes turned upside-down shaken vigorously and served with a dash of satire and a side of absurdity.

Who is the book for?

Terry Pratchett Piers Anthony Robert Aspirin and Douglas Adams fans.

Humorous fantasy satirical quest and reluctant hero fans.

Anyone who has ever been utterly and totally unprepared for whatever life throws their way.

Fantasy readers seeking an entertaining light-hearted adventure with a heart.

The Misadventures of Bob the Brave is more than a parody-beyond that it's an ode to all of the misfits who dreamed big all of the readers who want their fantasy with humor and all heroes who fall short of being heroic. Full of wit whimsy and completely fantastic characters this is the fantasy adventure you never knew you needed.

Be prepared to laugh cheer and sometimes cringe along with Bob the Brave's path to destiny-whether or not it is prepared for him.
