The Mosaic Haggadah

<p>The Passover seder has been observed for centuries. And it continues to be an important annual gathering that both celebrates family and friends and designates an evening to discuss the origins and values of the Jewish people. But with the Haggadah being a disparate collection of excerpts from various ancient and medieval texts it is easy for seder participants to become lost among the many topics presented—losing sight of the forest for the trees. So what are the take-home messages that should inspire us for the rest of the year?</p><p> </p><p><em>The Mosaic Haggadah</em> identifies six major themes of the Haggadah and using an easy-to-follow color code that identifies the relevant text among a mosaic of largely contemporary writings. It guides seder participants through the reading focusing on one theme throughout. Designed to teach and inspire from year to year <em>The Mosaic Haggadah</em> is in a sense six Haggadahs in one.</p><p> </p><p>The guest essays which vary widely from the intellectual to the historical to the personally dramatic will challenge and stimulate readers creating a memorable and meaningful Passover evening—and preserving a tradition that has been observed for generations.</p><p> </p><p>Author David Silberman practices general dentistry in Houston Texas where he lives with his wife Dina. Together they have three grown children. For many years the author has led a weekly class on the Talmud. The desire to extract a clear and meaningful message from the seder experience inspired him to create <em>The Mosaic Haggadah</em>.</p>
