About The Book

This Research surveys the archaeological sites in Shendi Reach on the west bank of the Nile between Elmatmma and Bagarocy as such the west bank has not been widely archaeologically surveyed and excavated compared to the east bank of the Nile.Generally the study focused on the Natural Environment in Shendi Reach where it was located in the Territory of the rainiest region of the Savannah. Also the Research discussed the archaeological work history in the region which confirmed the concentration of archaeological work on the eastern bank of the Nile rather than on the western bank which have witnessed but little archaeological activities. An archaeological Survey has been made in Elmatmma and the villages to the North of it where many sites have been recorded (settlements graves religious industrial and military sites). It was noted that the most important sites in the area of the study are located at the villages opposite to Bejrawiya on the eastern bank of the Nile; this is confirmed by the archaeological sites that have been found in the village of Kali which is located directly opposite to Bejrawiya Pyramids.
