The New Atlantis

The authors thoughts and vision for the scientific paradise are described in Francis Bacons book The New Atlantis. In this tale sailors who are lost off the coast of Peru eventually find Bensalem through a process of discovery. The emphasis shifts as the explorers reach Bensalem to its university Salomons House from the storys sparse beginning portions. The populace is encouraged to be intellectually curious there is a university called Salomons House where sciences are studied and developed and there is a strong sense of religious piety shared by all. These are only a few of the values that are promoted.
