This book is the result of two years of research conducted in the city of Campina Grande Paraíba and a master's thesis presented to the PPGCS-UFCG. The religious phenomenon was analyzed based on a process that began in my youth when as a non-practicing Catholic I began to observe/participate in religious activities that were new to me at the time. Upon coming into contact with the literature produced by theorists of the Religious Market Paradigm I understood that the situation of religious pluralism found in Brazil shook Catholic hegemony which forced by competition offered attractive activities/events similar to those of the evangelical model. What is evident is that they are attractive because they are similar. Thus when exploring this book the reader will find a comparison on websites between a set of religious activities offered by the Catholic Church and by neo-Pentecostals putting the Paradigm of Similarity to the test. As you progress through the pages you will find an interpretation of religious consumption understanding how Catholic faithful are reacting to the transformations that have been taking place in the Catholic Church.
