The Odyssey

The Odyssey is a classical epic poem attributed to the ancient Greek poet Homer and is considered one of the foundational works of Western literature. The poem follows the hero Odysseus on his journey home to Ithaca after fighting in the Trojan War and his encounters with various mythological creatures and challenges along the way. Throughout his travels Odysseus faces trials that test his physical and mental strength as well as his leadership skills and ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Along the way he is aided by various divine beings including the goddess Athena who is a constant presence throughout the story.
