<p>Damon Devereaux's life is in shambles.</p><p>After leaving his emotionally abusive six-year marriage Damon relocates to Greenough Park to seek solace in the company of his sister and nephew. As a co-founder he begins a brilliant career as a physicist at the Greenough Park Institute of Mathematical Physics. However when he purchases a rundown turn-of-the-century farmhouse in the country and hires an outsider to oversee the renovations his troubles intensify with problematic coworkers and a contentious divorce.</p><p>His family grows critical of the costly restoration project and Torrance's unrequited crush on schoolmate Lilianna implodes when she only has eyes for his beleaguered uncle. Damon's world continues to unravel as his innocent friendship with Lilianna comes under fire and his health suffers a precipitous decline.</p><p>But despite his ill health the vindictive divorce and problematic coworkers hope springs to life again in tandem with the beautiful farmhouse's slow transformation as Damon rediscovers reasons to trust and love in the most unlikely places. </p>
