The Painted Veil

The main character in The Painted Veil Kitty Fane tells a lovely tale that allows the reader to experience a wide range of feelings and sentiments. She enjoys mingling with others because she has an outgoing nature but due to the circumstances of her life she is compelled to wed Walter Fane who is quite the opposite of who she is. She had an affair with Charles Townsend while her husband a bacteriologist who works in Hong Kong is married. However due to the unexpected turn of events she is compelled to go through a number of stages that drive her to grow as a person and discover her own personality traits.
