Frederick Denison Maurice (1805-1872) was a highly influential theologian and philosopher of the mid-nineteenth century. He was both an Anglican priest and an academic having been involved in helping found colleges and also holding various positions at Kings College London and Cambridge University. He is the author of numerous works on a broad range of subjects including The Kingdom of Christ Reconstructing Christian Ethics Social Morality Mediaeval Philosophy and Theological Essays.
