The Pedagogical Relation in Proclus the Neoplatonist

About The Book

In this concise treatise we attempt to present some aspects of the way in which the great Neoplatonist philosopher of the Late Antiquity Proclus (410-485) addresses the issue of knowledge as a phenomenon and as a relation both between a teacher and his student and between the thinking subject and the world. Our main contribution lies on the fact that we are actually making a suggestion potentially utilizable by all those involved in any way in the field of the modern Pedagogy both the theoretical and the applied. We have to explain that by this inclusion we mean not only those who have been appointed to pass special knowledge but those who are aware that an opportunity has been given to them to play a key role in shaping consciences in order the cognitive process to be effective both in individual and socio-political level.
