A Double Treachery In this spy thriller set in the years of 1939 1940 John Hefford reveals how the French High command backed up by a secret society (La Cagoule - funded by the French extreme right wing ruling classes) premeditated the defeat of the French army in order to provoke an armistice with Hitler. In this way the fascist Vichy gevernment headed by Marshall Pétain was formed which the ruling classes wanted to protect them against Bolshevism.
