The Pilgrim’s Progress is one of the most influential religious works in English literature. It was written by John Bunyan (1628–1688) a Puritan who was imprisoned for holding religious services outside the established Church of England. Bunyan a tinker by trade and preacher by calling began writing this Christian allegory during his twelve-year imprisonment in Bedford jail (1660–1672) though it wasn't published until 1678. We are proud to bring this book to life by refreshing the language to better suit modern readers.
