In Nigeria today the decline of interest in art and its appreciation is a phenomenon that poses serious concerns for museums and heritage centres. Given that artistic and cultural heritages thrive through proper collection documentation and preservation. Therefore the role of the museum is to collect document exhibit research and interprete for purposes of preservation education development among others. The main objective of the author is to review the situation of the National Museum Owerri. In an attempt to achieve this as an art historical work the author Scrutinizes the extent to which this museum is able to meet its objectives by reviewing a recent exhibition titled Igbo Household (Ezi na ulo ndi Igbo).
