The Policy of Environmental Education in the Training of Young People and Adults

Environmental education in schools aims to open up spaces for the construction of knowledge and the articulation of learning enabling the formation of individuals who participate in the construction of a sustainable socially just and ecologically balanced society. In this sense educating individuals about the environment requires the involvement of a range of social actors and forms of organisation that consider alternatives to the hegemonic model of development with an emphasis on socio-environmental sustainability.
