The population of West Kazakhstan: History of Formation and Development

Based on the wide range of sources this monograph reviews the ethnic and demographic processes in XIX – XX centuries which lead to the formation of the present days’ population of the West Kazakhstan. The population dynamics and national structure change are considered in particular. In this view the study pays attention to the most crucial for Kazakhstan historical events. These are the colonization and migration of Russian and Ukrainian peasant class revolution wars in the first half of XX century Bolsheviks collectivization World War II and the modern stage of development. The monograph is the first historiographic integrating research speaking about the history of population of the West Kazakhstan.
