The Potts Brothers

The Potts Brothers is an autobiographical trip through the early music venues of New York and New Jersey. Related in the manner of a relaxed conversation that could take place across a table in a darkened jazz club Potts tells the story of growing up in a very large poor but very loving and very talented family. Music of course is the thread that binds Potts'' life and this story together and Potts unabashedly relates how music became a part of his life and his personality. The influence of music in his life is almost spiritual. While Potts pursues his musical ambitions making a living in the everyday world is still a very real endeavor. To make ends meet Potts takes on the duties of corrections officer in a maximum-security prison. Throughout the years of work in the hardened world of criminal justice and despite a life-threatening cardiac event - the dream to play continues.
