<p>The police force no matter what state or country you live is the same. They see and do things that no civilian person understands: blood guts physical violence and pushing your limits of mental physical and spiritual endurance. In the end these stressors can take their toll. Roger's experiences across his career serving in rural communities across the state of New South Wales tells many stories including those entwined with the personal impact on a country cop and his family. Fires floods flies dust storms and blizzards Roger's experiences are tragic heartfelt and at times humorous but tell a story of the impact of serving to protect. Along with a sprinkling of management decisions which seemed pointless at the time the emotional and spiritual limits to fulfill his obligations to his organisation and communities impacted him heavily to the point of contemplating suicide.
