<p>When twelve-year-old George meets silver-spooned Isabel at his grandfather’s annual cricket match he knows she is going to be his world. He does not know however that a decade on he will realise that he does not belong to that world…</p><p><br />Inspired by a little statue from his grandfather’s travels George heads to China to break free from Isabel and find his own way in the world a more purposeful world… Yet can he really succeed?</p><p><br />He has just one name and one phone number which both belong to one of Isabel’s university friends. Through meeting this stranger and seeking to understand him George stumbles into a set of passionate relationships and enters another world – an ancient civilisation in flux that is witnessing both sides of progress today whose people like himself are struggling with who they are who they are meant to be and who they are meant to be with…</p>
