The Process of shaping the new Social Security Policy in Chile

The social and political debate that Chile is experiencing on the questioning of and need for change to the current pension system based on forced and individual savings has been going on for a long time and the discussion will focus mainly on the shortcomings of the system''s Contributive Pillar.This inspires a research approach through the case study of the social organization called Coordinadora NO MAS AFP on a methodology with a qualitative approach. Supported by research instruments such as interviews and focus groups.Some of the results of this case study shed light on the gradual progress made by the Coordinadora NO MAS AFP such as bringing together a sense of urgency and legitimacy in the social sphere and in the political and legislative spheres it has managed to put pressure on the political system as a whole in a way that has not been seen before in the last thirty years.
