THE PROLIFERATION OF SERVICE STATIONS IN THE FACE OF THE RIGHT TO FOOD

About The Book

The right to a healthy environment is both an international and a national concern. The 1972 Stockholm Declaration was a harbinger of this right. A flurry of international and regional human rights and environmental treaties mention the fundamental nature of this right. At African regional level the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights enshrines the right to a satisfactory and comprehensive environment conducive to the development of all peoples. Concerned by this issue the Democratic Republic of Congo is not an isolated case and has not turned a deaf ear. To demonstrate its commitment to defending and promoting human rights it has enshrined in its constitution the right to a healthy environment conducive to the full development of every individual.
