The Prose Edda

The Prose Edda also known as the Younger Edda Snorris Edda and simply Edda was written in Old Norse during the thirteenth century in Iceland. Snorri Sturluson a distinguished poet legislator and frequent visitor to Norways royal court determined in 1220 to assemble Norse mythologys narratives and poetic practises before they faded under the influence of Christianity and European poem forms. The Prose Edda is the result a rare peek into early Norse mythology.
