The Public and Private Sectors in Brazilian Basic Education

About The Book

The history of education has grown significantly as a field of knowledge at the beginning of this century. This work is ultimately the result of the author's research at the end of her undergraduate degree in history into the texts of republican constitutional charters with an initial focus on the dynamics of the insertion of private prerogatives into public affairs. Based on this dynamic the author sought to study as the theme of her master's thesis the role attributed to the State in the debate that preceded the enactment of Law No. 4024 of 1961 (the first Law of Guidelines and Bases for National Education - LDB) regarding the public and private sectors in Brazilian basic education.
