The Quad Life

<p>At three years old Joel was involved in a motor vehicle accident and received a high-level spinal cord injury. Unable to breathe independently feel or control anything below his shoulders life changed instantly.</p><p></p><p>Being paralyzed from the neck down didn't stop Joel from achieving everything he put his mind to. With determination a loving family multiple caregivers and a strong faith in God's plan these challenges never stopped him. Going through grade school junior high and high school Joel went on to college living independently. He has many accomplishments including serving as a camp counselor and a deacon in his church.</p><p></p><p>Now at the age of 41 Joel is ready to share his story with others to provide encouragement and inspiration that every life can be useful. Journey with him as he learns to be his own advocate in issues related to health education friends and home life. His story is one of faith family forgiveness and friendship!</p><p></p><p>When asked how he has endured so much he simply answers </p><p></p><p class=ql-align-center>God has allowed me to serve Him in ways my parents or I never imagined. He has enabled me to show that anyone can be active if they choose to be. I have been given opportunity to speak with many children and adults and help them learn different perspectives and I was able to write an entire book just by using a mouth stick.</p><p><br></p>
