The Queen’s Necklace

The novel follows Jeannes story from her early life as a poor girl in the French countryside to her rise as a prominent figure in the French court and her eventual downfall as a result of her involvement in the diamond necklace affair. The novel also explores the political and social climate of the time as well as the role of women in French society.
