The Radical Temper of Modern African Poetry

Leadership has always been a major problem in Africa. Thus there is a need for a kind of poetry that focuses on the articulation of a revolutionary theory of radical transformation that will put to its barest minimum- oppression corruption and class struggle in modern African states. This is what this book is all about. The forms of oppression confronting the continent today are more powerful and tactical than the ones that have ever existed. We live in a time when the future can not be trusted and we are separated from the future. This book explores and discusses literarily how radical poetry handles revolutionary transformation of the society for harmonious development of humanity across Africa and situate radical ideology in the context of modern African poetry.
