The Rainbow Bridge

This book comes from a very personal place. I always longed for a pet Finally after much pleading Tootsie a mini dachshund came along followed a few years later by Chika a Pomeranian. Tootsie and I were inseparable. When she became a star in my arms the poem The Rainbow Bridge was: source of consolation Tootsie missed meeting my daughter by a few months but Chika was around when Ishanvi was born and became a much-loved part of her early life. Chika became a star when Ishanvi was a few years old and she could not for the life of her figure out where hed gone. So my mother made up a story for her about how Chika had become a star and that was her source of consolation. Thats how this book came about through years of telling these stories. I hope it will help children deal with a subject that we normally dont address - the loss of a loved one.
