In The Ranger Boys Outwit the Timber Thieves Garry Boone Dick Wallace and Phil Durant embark on a new adventure to uncover the mystery behind the changes at a lumber camp owned by Garry's father. The boys who have previously proven their mettle in various adventures are tasked with identifying the source of sabotage that threatens the success of the summer logging operations. As they journey to the camp they encounter Arthur Howells a timber scaler who has been attacked by two former lumberjacks one of whom is linked to the notorious LeBlanc family. This connection raises the stakes as the boys have a history with Jean LeBlanc a known adversary. With Howells' assistance the boys aim to uncover the sabotage tactics such as spiking trees which could lead to significant delays and financial losses for the Boone enterprise. Along the way the boys experience a series of events including a chance encounter with a circus where Dick showcases his diving skills.
