The Real Effects of Setting Environmental Science-Based Targets

The urgency of addressing climate change has resulted in a growing number of voluntary projects that aim to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Among these programs the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) stands out as a well-known non-profit organization that assists organizations in setting emissions reduction and net-zero targets based on climate science. This study examines the relationship between taking part in the Science Based Targets initiative and the real effects on companies' outcomes particularly their GHG emissions.
