<p>A vindication that the doctrine of the Real Presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist is maintained by the formularies of the Church of England. Published in 1857 in the wake of the Denison trial Pusey examines in minute details the similarities and differences between the Anglican formularies and the Lutheran formularies. He pays especial attention to the Catechism and the Notice at the end of the first Book of Homilies and buttresses his arguments with many patristic citations and the best of high Church Anglican divinity. An outstanding albeit rather technical resource for the student of Tractarian sacramentology</p>
