The Real Range of Serum Alanine Transaminase ALT in Healthy Population

Alanine transaminase ALT is considered the most important marker for hepatocellular membrane damage and once asymptomatic ALT elevation may be the only indicator of some liver diseases such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease NAFLD which considered the most common liver disease in western world it is so necessary to define upper limit of normal ULN of ALT accurately to differentiate healthy and asymptomatic patients.
