<p>Fred McCoy survived that miserable war. He survived losing his wife when she died giving birth to their son. But when a monstrous hurricane struck his small farm near the Florida coast tore his young son from his very arms and lost him to the raging black waters Fred McCoy lost his humanity.<br>He drifted west leaving a trail of bodies behind him.
